NYPL was one of the sole reasons why I was able to get through high school. During the recession I had to move around to many schools and by the time I landed in NYC I was in my fourth school and very distraught. Because of the library system I was able to immerse myself in literature and through the many programs that the libraries provide. I would happily escape to the library to go to concentrate during my senior year in high school and believe, that because of those who believed in me at the library, I was able to attend university. Today, NYPL is the sole reason I have stayed in New York City and will be one of the things I will dearly miss if I so choose to one day move. NYPL has changed my life for the better and I would just like to other youths in similar situations understand that caring people and resources are available at NYPL. It is a cherished asset in one of the greatest cities in the world and one that makes this city stand out among all others. Thank you.
